Miscericordia Cougars

Matt VanDerMeid is in his sixth season as head men’s and women’s swimming coach at Misericordia University.

A year ago, he guided the MU men's team to a 9-4 record and a fourth place finish at the MAC Championships while the women's team was 7-8 and sixth at MAC's.

He was named the 2014-2015 MAC Men's Swim Coach of the Year.

The MU men's and women's teams finished second at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships for the second straight year in 2014-2015.

A graduate of SUNY-Geneseo, VanDerMeid spent the three seasons as an assistant at his alma mater and helped the men’s and women’s teams to three consecutive SUNYAC titles.

He coached 10 All-Americans and the team broke 25 school records over the last three years.

As a student-athlete at Geneseo, VanDerMeid was a three-time NCAA qualifier and a 10-time All-American.

He was the SUNYAC Championships MVP and is a member of the SUNY-Geneseo Athletics Hall of Fame.
