Misericordia University Athletics

Pete Egbert is in his 20th year as the head baseball coach at Misericordia University and his 25th as a head coach at the college level. 

He owns a career record of 654-363-2, including a 563-276-2 record and .671 winning percentage at Misericordia. 

Egbert guided the Cougars to the 2024 national championship and D-III World Series appearances in 2018 and 2023.

Misericordia finished the 2024 season ranked first with a 44-11 record. The Cougars won three straight games in the Dallas Regional to advance to the Super Regional in Newport News.  
  
Egbert has led the Cougars to the MAC Freedom tournament every year since 2011.

He led Misericordia to its second NCAA D-III World Series appearance in 2023.  MU finished 40-15 and won the NCAA Regional and Super Regional titles along with top-eight rankings in two national polls. 
 
In his previous 24 seasons as a head coach, including five at Fitchburg State (MA), Egbert has been named conference Coach of the Year seven times and ECAC Coach of the Year once. 

He has been honored as the ABCA Regional Coach of the Year twice. In 2024, he won the ABCA and D3baseball.com Coach of the Year awards. 
 
Egbert earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri and holds a master’s degree in athletics administration from Springfield College.
