Alec Iurato is a senior member of the Misericordia baseball team. A four-year letterwinner, he has been a key contributor since his freshman season and helped lead the Cougars to four straight MAC Freedom Championships.
In his first season, he appeared in 31 games, making 22 starts. He finished the year hitting .316 while roping two doubles, two triples and driving in 14 runs. He also stole 10 bases and was hit by a pitch five times.
In Iurato's sophomore season, he earned MAC Freedom honorable mention honors after playing in 45 games, starting 44 of them. He hit .320 on the year with 10 doubles, 35 RBI, 33 runs, 21 walks and was hit by a pitch 13 times.
As a junior, he played in 17 games, hit .246 and drove in eight runs.
Iurato missed most of his senior season to injury, but recovered in time for senior day and the postseason. He went 1-1 on senior day with an RBI in his first game action of the year. He went 3-4 with three RBI against King's in the MAC Freedom Championships. Against #2 Rowan in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, he went 2-3 with two walks and scored the winning run in the 10th inning.
