The Misericordia University women's tennis team won its third straight with a 9-0 shut out of the Arcadia Lady Monarchs. The Cougars had to battle through three tiebreakers for the win.
Abby Searfoss and Ashley Mangabang started the day off with an 8-2 victory in first doubles. Their current streak stretches to nine with the win. Once again, the pair went on to capture first and second singles matches, respectively.
Mangabang's was the first singles match to go to a tiebreaker. Maura Haupt and Ellyn Wingert both saw their matches stretched, too. Haupt went on to win in third singles, and Wingert took sixth.
Courtney Otto won in fourth singles, and Lauren Verret controlled fifth singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Otto and Haupt won in second doubles, and Verret and Wingert took third doubles.
The Cougars will again host King's College tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. to complete a suspended game from September. The game is the team's regular season finale.
