The Misericordia University women's tennis team earned its seventh consecutive win Thursday to improve to 8-1. The 6-3 win came against Alvernia, who become the third conference school to fall to the Cougars.
Sarah Golis continued her dominance on the court with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in fifth singles and an 8-2 win in third doubles with partner Jennifer Spott. Golis is now 8-0 (3-0 conference) and the duo is 3-0 (1-0).
First doubles teammates Abby Searfoss and Ashley Mangabang improved to 7-2 (3-0) with an 8-1 victory in first doubles.
Maura Haupt and Courtney Otto improved to 7-1 (3-0) with an 8-4 win in second doubles. Otto later improved to 6-3 (3-0) with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in fourth singles.
Lauren Verret took the sixth singles match with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
The Cougars host Keystone on Sunday, Oct. 5.
