The Misericordia University volleyball team were beaten at home 3-1 by conference rival DeSales Wednesday. The Cougars finished the season 15-11.

 

The team honored its seniors with Senior Appreciation Day. Michelle DiCicco, Rachel Hullinger and Amy Porambo were honored during pregame ceremonies and a postgame reception for friends and family.

 

The Cougars lost sets one, three and four by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18, respectively. They fought hard and won a close bout in set two by a score of 25-21.

 

DiCicco had seven total kills, and Hullinger and freshman Krystal Burford each posted six. Freshman Meghan Hotaling led with 12 assists and served three aces.

 

Porambo led the defense with 17 digs. Sophomore Shannon Kane added another 10.

 

DiCicco stands fourth in Misericordia history in career kills with 640. Porambo is second in all-time digs with 1,532.

 

Kylie Fehnel had 11 kills on 25 total attacks for DeSales. Kerri Andrews fueled the defense with 19 digs.
