The Misericordia University men's basketball team ended the regular season in exciting fashion with a 55-52 come-from-behind win at Gwynedd-Mercy, Thursday.
The Cougars rallied from 16 points down for its second comeback win of the year over the Griffins to finish 17-8 overall and 11-5 in the PAC.
Vinny Baumunk had 12 points and 11 rebounds and
Evan Donegan added 12 points on four three-pointers.
Matt Hornak had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Trailing 28-12 with 6:51 to play in the first half, the Cougars cut the deficit to 34-22 at halftime.
MU used a 7-0 spurt early in the second half to cut the lead to three.
Marcus Little made consecutive layups and
Ryan Roa drained a three-pointer to make it 34-31 with 15:00 remaining.
GMC went back up by 10, 41-31, with 12:33 to play before the Cougars went on a 13-3 run to forge a 44-44 tie.
Donegan buried a three-pointer for 47-44 lead and Baumunk's layup gave the Cougars the lead for good, 50-48, with 3:37 to go.
Robbie Johnson's driving bucket and Matt Hornak's jumper gave the Cougars a 54-48 lead with 1:27 to play.
Misericordia earned the third seed in the PAC playoffs and will host Neumann, Saturday at 2:00.
