The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-22) decision at King's in the first Freedom Conference contest in school history.
Misericordia is playing its first season in the Freedom Conference after 16 seasons in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.
The Cougars are 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play with two of their losses coming at the hands of King's.
After dropping the opener, MU jumped out to a 9-5 lead in game-two and led throughout much of the game until back-to-back kills gave King's a 24-22 lead.
King' broke an 18-18 tie in the nightcap to complete the sweep.
Michelle DiCicco led the Cougars with 11 kills and three solo blocks while
Krystal Burford followed with six kills.
Jesse Karger dished out 14 assists while
Meghan Hotaling added 10 assists.
Kristin Hoffman contributed five kills while
Shannon Kane and
Amy Porambo chipped in with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.
The Cougars will visit Marywood, Monday at 7:00.
