The Misericordia University women's basketball team toppled Manhattanville 57-53 Saturday afternoon on the strength of another strong night by co-captain
Lacey DeGraw.
The Cougars looked evenly matched in the first half. A 13-2 run put them on top 18-11 to give them their largest lead before the break.
The game went to break tied 24-24, but DeGraw stepped up her game in the second half. She scored 12 in the half, including three putbacks. She nabbed boards on both sides of the ball.
By game's end, DeGraw had tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds—both team-bests.
Vanessa Wright scored 12, and
Courtney Sykes added 10.
Lindsey Sykes grabbed 10 rebounds and led with three steals.
The Valiants scored 24 off the bench, including 12 from Courtney Turner.
The Cougars (4-5) host Marywood Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
