Vinny Baumunk recorded a double-double to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to a key Freedom Conference win at Eastern, 63-56, Monday.

Baumunk had game-highs with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Robbie Johnson added 11 points.

Marcus Little added nine points with all of his scoring coming at the foul line.

The Cougars scored the last four points of a low-scoring first half to take a 19-17 lead at intermission.

Baumunk sank a pair of free throws to give MU their biggest lead, 32-23, with 14:02 to play.

After Eastern rallied to take a 41-40 lead with 7:47 remaining, Baumunk's jumper put the Cougars ahead for good, 42-41.

Leading 45-43, Dom Del Prete scored five straight points to give MU a 50-43 advantage with 3:25 to go.

The Cougars shot 84% from the free throw line, including 11 of 14 over the final two minutes to clinch the game.

MU, 9-9/3-6, will host Alvernia, Saturday.
