The Misericordia University men's basketball team placed five players in double figures on the way to a 76-58 win over Hood, Sunday in the consolation game of the Greyhound Starter's Classic at Moravian.
Vinny Baumunk led the Cougars with 14 points while
Marqus Hunter, Andy Smith and
Dom Del Prete all added 11 points.
Robbie Johnson had 10 points and all-tournament selection
Marcus Little had nine points and nine assists.
The Cougars shot 61.5% (16-26) from the floor in the first half enroute to a 39-26 halftime lead.
After falling behind 9-4 in the first five minutes, MU went on a 25-4 run over the next seven minutes to build a 29-13 lead with 7:47 left in the first half.
Hood opened the second period on a 10-0 run to cut MU's lead to 39-36 with 16:09 remaining, but the Cougars responded with a 10-0 run of their own over the next four minutes for a 49-36 lead with 12:00 to play.
Misericordia, 7-4, will return to Freedom Conference action when they visit Alvernia, Wednesday at 8:00.
