A cold shooting night led the Misericordia University men's basketball team to a 67-50 loss at Scranton, Tuesday night.

Jeff Slanovec led the Cougars with 13 points while Dom Del Prete added 11 points and Ethan Eichhorst had 10 points and seven rebounds.

After falling behind 18-7 in the opening nine minutes, the Cougars rallied to take a 24-22 lead with 5:15 remaining in the half.

Robbie Johnson started the run with a layup and a pair of free throws from Eichhorst and a Slanovec jumper made it 18-13.

Following a Royals bucket, Eichhorst sandwiched a putback and a short jumper around a Slanovec three-pointer to tie score, 20-20, with 6:50 remaining.

Mark Williams dropped a pair of free throws for a 22-20 lead and Johnson ended the spurt with another driving basket to give MU a 24-22 lead with 5:15 to play.

Scranton scored 14 unanswered points to take a 36-24 lead into halftime.

The Cougars never got closer than nine points in the second half as they shot just 20% (5-25) from the floor over the final 20 minutes.

MU is 3-1 and will host Penn State Worthington, Monday at 8:00.
