Jesse Robinson and
Tyann McDaniel combined for 45 points as the Misericordia University women's basketball team rallied for a 63-52 win over Lycoming, Tuesday night at the Anderson Center.
Trailing 48-41, the Cougars closed the game with a 22-4 run over the final 5:40.
Robinson single-handedly kept MU in the game as she scored 23 of her 25 points in the first 35 minutes.
McDaniel then took over as she scored 12 of her 20 points in the final four minutes.
Courtney Sykes had eight points and seven rebounds and
Christine Marks grabed a game-high eight rebounds despite spending half the game on the bench in foul trouble.
Down by seven, Sykes scored off an inbounds play and McDaniel drained a three-pointer a buzzer-beating three-pointer.
Vanessa Wright tied the score on a fast-break layup and Robinson gave MU their first lead of the second half, 50-48.
McDaniel got a shooter's roll on another three-pointer to put the Cougars ahead 53-48 and she was a perfect six of six from the foul line in the final two minutes.
Sykes and Marks both sank a pair of free throws in the final minute as the Cougars shot 84% (21-25) for the game.
Robinson scored MU's first nine points as the Cougars rallied from a 6-1 deficit to grab a 9-6 lead.
Lycoming eventually built a 22-15 lead late in the first half but a Robinson layup made it 22-17 and Wright and McDaniel combined for five points to get within two, 24-22.
Lycoming closed the half on an 8-0 spurt to take a 32-22 lead at the break.
Misericordia, 2-2, will host Centenary, Monday at 6:00.
