The Misericordia University women's basketball team clinched a home playoff game with a 57-47 win at Delaware Valley in their regular season finale, Saturday.
The Cougars will host King's in the first round of the Freedom playoffs, Monday at 7:00 at the Anderson Center.
Courtney Sykes led four MU players in double figures with 17 points and
Lacey DeGraw added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Vanessa Wright had 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and
Christine Marks added 10 points, including eight in a crucial 12-0 run in the second half.
Trailing 41-34 with 11:06 to play, Marks ignited a rally that put the Cougars in front for good.
The spurt started with two free throws each from Marks and DeGraw and Sykes drained a jumper to pull within 41-40. Marks converted a layup for a 42-41 lead and added back-to-back buckets for a 46-41 lead with 4:58 to play.
MU ended the regular season at 13-12 overall and 8-8 in the Freedom.
