Despite placing four players in double figures, the Misericordia University men's basketball team lost at King's, 73-58, Wednesday.
Vinny Baumunk led the Cougars with 19 points and eight rebounds and
Jeff Slanovec added 11 points while
Robbie Johnson and
Dom DelPrete had 10 points each.
MU fell behind by 10 points late in the first half, but Slanovec's three-pointer ignited a 7-2 spurt over the final 2:26 for a 37-32 halftime deficit.
The Cougars cut the margin to 39-36 early in the second half, but Monarchs pulled away throughout the half.
MU struggled at the defensive end as King's shot 51.9% from the floor, including 53.3% from three-point range.
The Cougars, 10-10/4-7, will host Eastern, Saturday at 3:00.
