The Misericordia University women's basketball team capped its Senior Appreciation Day with a 68-56 conference win over Eastern Saturday.

Seniors Julia Bebry, Lacey DeGraw, Katie Fox, Rachel Selert and Lindsey Sykes were honored on court before the start of the game.

Jesse Robinson led the Cougar offense with 16 points in the win. DeGraw scored 13, and Courtney Sykes had 11.

DeGraw earned a double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds.

Courtney Sykes led the Cougars in the first half with eight points—all scored consecutively. She netted a layup, 10-footer, three-pointer and free throw within three minutes.

The Cougars headed to halftime down 35-28, but came out firing in the second half. They started the half with a 12-0 run, including five free throws.

DeGraw and Robinson became heavily involed in the team's offense. Robinson did most of her scoring on Eastern's terms, shooting 10 free throws in the half. Fortunately for the Cougars, Robinson had little trouble sinking all 10.

DeGraw scored eight in the half, including four free throws of her own.

The Cougars travel to New York Monday to face CUNY-John Jay in a nonconference match.
