The Misericordia University men's tennis team swept DeSales, 9-0, in its Freedom Conference opener, Wednesday.
Fred Hockenbury, Frank Nutt, Nate Powers, Brett Ford, Matt Hopkins and
Justin Muthler were all double-winners for the Cougars.
Hockenbury won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and Nutt was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at number two.
Powers won 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 at third singles and Ford won 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles.
Matt Hopkins won 6-3, 6-4 at fifth singles and Muthler won the first set, 6-1, before winning by disqualification at sixth singles.
Ford and Nutt won 8-6 at first doubles and Hockenbury and Powers won 8-4 at number two.
Hopkins and Muthler were 8-3 winners at third doubles.
MU will host King's, Saturday at 1:00.
