The Misericordia University men's tennis team lost 6-3 to Eastern at home Thursday and fell to 4-4 (2-3 Freedom).
Justin Muthler was the Cougars' only double winner. He won 7-5, 6-2 in sixth singles and teamed with Matt Hopkins to capture a 9-7 win in third doubles. He improves to 8-0 in singles play on the season.
Fred Hockenbury and Nate Powers teamed for the final Cougar win with an 8-4 victory in second doubles.
Brett Ford battled late in fourth singles, but ultimately lost 6-6 (7-5), 6-6 (9-7).
The Cougars host Manhattanville Saturday at 1 p.m.
