The Misericordia University men's tennis team used two default wins to beat Lycoming, 5-4, on Thursday. The match capped a season in which the Cougars finished 6-7 (2-5 Freedom).
The Cougars played for three wins. Matt Hopkins and Justin Muthler teamed for an 8-5 win in No. 2 doubles.
Muthler became a double winner after a hard-fought win in No. 5 singles. After losing the first set 4-6, Muthler came back 6-0, 6-4.
Brett Ford battled for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
The Cougars got default wins in No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles for the win.
