The Misericordia men's tennis team grabbed its first win of the 2009-10 season with an 8-1 home victory over Baptist Bible.

Sophomore Fred Hockenbury (6-2, 6-2) and junior Frank Nutt (6-1, 6-2) both won comfortably at first and second singles, respectively.

Justin Muthler, Nate Powers, and Matt Erney were also victories at singles for the Cougars.

MU swept the doubles matchups, with Hockenbury and Nutt combining to win 8-2 at first doubles along with Brett Ford and Muthler winning 8-2 at second doubles. Erney and Kyle Capozzi took their third doubles match 8-1.

Next up, MU (1-1) travels to Marywood this Sunday.
