The Misericordia volleyball team easily defeated Cedar Crest in the Anderson Center tonight, winning 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-7).
It was the fifth straight victory for the Cougars, who improved to 6-2 on the season.
Following a tough first game win, MU trailed 3-0 in the second game after some confusion about service rotation resulted in the officials docking the Cougars a point, despite protests from the home side.
From that moment on however, Misericordia out-scored their opponents 50-15. The clinching game was highlighted by a long run with
Lexie Goble serving, in which the junior recorded two aces.
Freshman
Cailin McCullion once again led the Cougars in kills with eight, just ahead of
Krystal Burford's seven. Sophomore
Kristin Hoffman led MU with 13 assists.
Senior
Jesse Karger had 14 digs, and junior
Shannon Kane led with 15.
The Cougars begin Freedom Conference play at home tomorrow, when the Manhattanville Valiants come to Dallas looking to avenge a 3-0 sweep last season in the Anderson Center.
