Cougars Fall in OT

The Misericordia men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought 65-63 overtime decision, Saturday at Manhattanville.

Dom Del Prete had a team-high 15 points as all five Cougars starters were in double figures.

Mark Williams and Jeff Slanovec both had 12 points and Marcus Little added 11 points and six assists.
Robbie Johnson had 10 points.

Little made one of two free throws with 28 seconds remaining in regulation to forge a 53-53 tie and sank a pair of free throws to give MU their last lead, 55-54 with 3:36 to go in OT.

Trailing 46-35 with 9:46 to play in regulation, the Cougars used a 9-0 run to pull within two.

Little scored four straight points on a jumper and two foul shots to cut the margin to 46-39.

Slanovec drained a three-pointer and Del Prete's layup made it 46-44 with 6:30 to play.

Another Del Prete layup gave MU a 52-50 with 1:16 to go.

The Cougars used a 9-2 run to take their largest lead of the game, 22-15, late in the first half.

Tied at 13, Slanovec made back-to-back three-pointers and Del Prete added a three-point play for a seven-point lead with 4:34 left in the first half.

Misericordia, 8-7 (2-3), will visit King's, Wednesday at 8:00.
