The Misericordia University volleyball team rallied for a key Freedom Conference match at Delaware Valley, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 23-25, 25-15, 15-8), Tuesday.
Krystal Burford led MU with 14 kills and three blocks and
Lexie Goble added 13 kills and two blocks.
Cailin McCullion had eight kills and
Kristin Hoffman and
Molly Harleman had seven kills each.
Hoffman added 28 assists and
Meghan Hotaling had 20.
Shannon Kane had 31 digs and two aces.
In the opener, Del Val pulled to within one, 21-20, but the Cougars took four of the last five points to clinch the 25-1 win.
MU jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the second game and led 18-16 before the Aggies took six straight points for a 25-22 win.
Trailing game three, 24-19, the Cougars scored four straight points, but Del Val took the next point for a 25-23 win.
The Cougars evened the match by scoring 14 of the last 17 points in a 25-15 game four win.
Leading the finale 6-5, took four of the next six points for a 10-6 lead. Burford had three kills in the set, including the clincher.
MU improved to 12-9 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom. They will travel to Moravian, Tuesday.
