Two second half goals doomed the Misericordia University men's soccer team at DeSales, as a 2-0 loss put MU's Freedom Conference playoff hopes on the brink heading into the final weeks of the season.
The Cougars (9-7) are now 2-3 in Freedom Conference play and sit three points behind King's for the fourth and final playoff spot. When FDU-Florham visits on Saturday, MU will have a chance to put itself back into the playoff picture.
MU played well in the first half, out-shooting the Bulldogs 7-2 and holding a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks, but couldn't finish despite having numerous chances.
DeSales elevated its play in the second half, and grabbed quick goals exactly 90 seconds apart, in the 64th and 65th minutes.
