The Misericordia University basketball team, fresh off a season-opening victory over Centenary, will look to continue its positive start to the 2010-11 season with this weekend's 19th Annual McCarthy Tire Laurel Line tournament.

The Cougars are defending champions after defeating Marywood 77-61 in last year's final. Junior Jeff Slanovec led MU that day with 17 points.

Marywood (1-0) is back this season and will face PSU-Hazleton (0-2) on Friday at 6 PM. MU hosts Baptist Bible (0-1) at 8 PM.

The two finalists will face off Saturday at 8 PM for the title while the consolation game will be held at 6 PM.

Misericordia has won a record six Laurel Line titles, ahead of Scranton (five).
