The Misericordia University volleyball team dropped a tough 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22) decision to FDU-Florham, Tuesday night in the Anderson Center.
After losing the opening two games, the Cougars rallied for a 25-23 win in the third game.
Caillin McCullion led the Cougars with 11 kills and one ace and
Kristin Hoffman added eight kills and 19 assists.
Krystal Burford had seven kills and
Kat LaBrie added six kills.
Molly Harleman added six kills and two aces.
MU jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the second game thanks to kills from McCullion, Burford and
Lexie Goble.
FDU rallied to the score, 8-8, and eventually built a 17-12 lead. McCullion and Goble both had kills to get within 18-16, but the Cougars had three attack errors down the stretch.
Trailing 12-10 in the third game, Hoffman had four kills as Harleman served for seven straight points and the Cougars rallied for an 18-13 lead.
An FDU ace got the visitors within 23-22, but Goble and Burford had back-to-back kills to end the game.
MU is 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the Freedom Conference
