The Misericordia University volleyball team improved to 2-0 with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-6, 25-11) sweep over Rosemont, Saturday in the Anderson Center.
Kat LaBrie and
Krystal Burford both had eight kills and
Caillin McCullion added seven kills and five aces.
Kristin Hoffman had six aces and 18 assists and
Nicole Korgeski added three aces.
Hoffman served for the first seven points, including an ace, as the Cougars raced to a 7-0 lead to open the first game.
McCullion had a pair of kills to make it 15-5 and
Meghan Hotaling had two aces to put MU ahead 18-5.
Burford slammed home a point for a 23-9 lead and Korgeski ended the game with an ace.
Hotaling had six straight service points to help the Cougars to a 9-2 lead in game two and McCullion had three aces to stretch the lead to 15-3.
Alissa Richardson served for four straight points to make it 20-5 and two Hoffman aces helped put the game away.
Hoffman opened the final game with three aces as the Cougars built an 8-0 lead.
McCullion had a kill and back-to-back aces to make it 18-6.
Jennifer Burbella's kill made it 23-11 and Korgeski's ace gave MU a 24-11 lead.
Misericordia will travel to Keystone, Tuesday.
