Tyann McDaniel led five players in double figures with 22 points as the Misericordia University women's basketball team picked up a non-conference win at Penn College, 89-34, Wednesday at Penn College.
Kayla Sileo added 18 points for MU while
Christine Marks had 17 and
Jesse Robinson and
Hannah Seely added 10 points each.
Sileo added six rebounds and five steals while Marks was a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor and added nine rebounds.
Seely added five assists and seven steals.
As a team, the Cougars shot 55.5% from the floor, including 42.1 from behind the three-point arc.
The Cougars opened the game with 23 unanswered points over the first five minutes and built a lead of 37-6 enroute to a 47-16 halftime lead.
Katie Drayton opened the scoring with a jumper on MU's first possession and Marks followed with a three-point play and a three-point basket for an 8-0 advantage.
McDaniel and Robinson scored four points each to put MU up 16-0 less than four minutes into the game.
After a Marks layup, McDaniel drained a three-pointer before Seely's bucket made it 23-0 less than four minutes into the game.
Misericordia is 6-5 and will play at Delaware Valley, Saturday.
