The Misericordia University women's soccer team opened its Freedom Conference schedule with a 0-0 double-overtime tie with Wilkes, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars held a 14-10 advantage in shots, including 2-1 in the overtime periods.
Both teams had three corners.
MU's
Jess Anderson made six saves four her fourth shutout.
After Anderson smothered Wilkes' first scoring opportunity in the 31st minute,
Sam Helmstetter volleyed a pass to
Erin McGreal whose sliding shot went just wide with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
Five minutes later,
Erin Baker's shot from the left wing got behind Wilkes keeper Sam Lindo, but she was able to corral the ball before it crossed the goal line.
Neither team managed a shot in the first overtime, Helmstetter got two shots off in a 30-second span in the closing minutes of the second OT.
Misericordia, 4-3-2, will play again at Ithaca, Tuesday.
