Seven different players scored goals as the Misericordia University women's soccer team cruised to a 7-0 win over DeSales, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Misericordia extended its unbeaten streak to seven while improving to 9-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the Freedom Conference.

Nikki Hensel, Laura Roney, Megan Lannigan, Sam Helmstetter, Alyssa Mocion, Courtney Dillon and Danielle Hesler all scored for the Cougars.  Erin Roberts and Katie Usher had assists while Jess Anderson, Caitlin Sweeney and Kelly Mott combined for the shutout.

The Cougars took a 5-0 lead with five goals in a 20-minute span midway through the first half.

Unable to connect on some good early scoring opportunities, Hensel got MU on the board when she collected a loose ball in the box and buried a shot from 10 yards out at 16:52.

Roney made it 2-0 less than a minute later when she dribbled in from the right wing and slipped a shot inside the near post.

Less than a minute later, Lannigan chipped a shot over the Bulldogs' keeper for a 3-0 lead at 18:11.

Helmstetter took a feed from Roberts and played a ball over the keeper's head to make it 4-0 at 21:51.

Off an MU corner, Usher headed a ball down to Mocion who slotted it home for a 5-0 lead at 24:17.

Another Misericordia corner resulted in a loose ball in the box and Dillon finished inside the right post for a 6-0 lead with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half.

Hesler capped the scoring when her direct kick from 35 yards out sailed over DSU's keeper and under the crossbar for a 7-0 lead at 73:18.

MU will travel to FDU-Florham, Saturday.
