Ethan Eichhorst had a double-double and Justin Grotevant added 16 points to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to an 81-64 win at Moravian, Sunday.
Eichhorst had 16 points and 10 rebounds and
Sean Bieski and
Jeff Slanovec both added 13 points as the Cougars improved to 5-0.
Steve Artzerounian was 5-for-5 from the floor and had 11 points off the bench.
MU raced out to a 41-20 halftime lead and held off a second half Moravian rally.
Slanovec scored eight straight points, including a pair of three-pointers, to give the Cougars a 15-6 lead with 13:46 to play in the first half.
Grotevant had five points and Bieski added a three-point play to key a 14-0 run as the Cougars went ahead, 31-10, with 7:21 to go.
After Moravian cut the lead to 45-35 six minutes into the second half, MU responded with back-to-back layups by Artzerounian and a Slanovec three-pointer to stretch the lead back to 52-35 with 11:03 remaining.
Moravian made one last charge and got within nine, 57-48, with 6:55 to play.

Anthony Sergio responded with a three-pointer and
Matt Greene sank three free throws as the Cougars went up, 63-50, at 5:37.
Eichhorst scored back-to-back buckets and Bieski made a pair of free throws for a 69-52 advantage with under four minutes left.
Misericordia will open Freedom Conference play at Wilkes, Wednesday.
