The Misericordia University men's basketball team hit eight of 10 free throws down the stretch to secure a 67-54 win over Lebanon Valley, Sunday at the Anderson Center.

Ethan Eichhorst led MU with 25 points and 11 rebounds to give the Cougars their seventh win.

The Cougars were up two starting the second half, when the Dutchmen's Jordan Stewart drained a three to take the early second half lead.

MU's Eichhorst answered with two layups, one on a pass from Dylan Grotevant and the other from Matt Greene, to go up by three with 17 minutes left.

LVC pulled within four, but freshman guard Joe Busacca buried a three from the corner to put the Cougars up seven with 12 minutes remaining.

Two free throws from Justin Grotevant broke a two-minute scoring drought and put the Cougars up by six with 6:33 left to play.

Lebanon Valley pulled within four with 5:17 left off a layup by Joey Giangiobbe, but that was as close as the Dutchmen got.

Greene hit a three from the top of the key and Chris Undersinger added one from the left wing to put the Cougars up 11 with two minutes remaining.

The Dutchmen's Danny Brooks tried to bring his team back, but Misericordia hit eight of 10 free throws to ice the game.

The Cougars opened the game with both Justin and Dylan Grotevant making baskets to go up four.

LVC's Brooks hit three jumpers to tie it at six, and Jordan Stewart made a layup to give LVC their first lead.

The teams traded baskets until 6:51, when LVC's Matt O'Brien and Joe Meehan both hit a basket to give the Dutchmen a six point lead, their biggest lead of the game.

MU answered with an 8-0 run highlighted by an Eichhorst steal and coast-to-coast run for a layup to force LVC to call a timeout.

After the timeout Meehan scored an easy layup for LVC to tie it at 25, then Giangiobbe hit a pair of free-throws to end the half, up by two.

MU is 7-3 and will conclude first semester action at Marywood, Monday at 4:00.
