The Misericordia University women's tennis team competed in five matches as part of a spring break trip to Orlando, FL. The Cougars went 2-3 for the week, including wins over Bryn Mawr and Bethel.
MU kicked things off with a 6-3 win over Bryn Mawr on March 6.
Freshman
Michelle Cameron swept her first singles match 6-0, 6-0 while classmate
Breanne Phillips won 6-3, 6-4 at second singles.
Courtney Otto won at third singles and
Cassie Foy was victorious 6-4, 6-2 at fifth singles.
Otto teamed with fellow senior
Ashley Mangabang to win 8-5 at second doubles while Foy and
Ellyn Wingert won a tie-breaker in the third doubles spot.
Misericordia swept Bethel 9-0 on March 10. Cameron and Phillips teamed to win at first doubles while each taking their singles match as well.
Foy was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at fifth singles and Otto won a tie-breaker at third singles. Mangabang took the third singles place by a score of 6-4, 6-0.
The Cougars lost 8-1 matches to Coe (March 9) and Berry (March 11), and fell 9-0 to State College of Florida (March 7). Misericordia will begin its Freedom Conference campaign with a home contest against King's on March 26.
