The Misericordia University men's tennis team took a lead in doubles matches but couldn't hold on in the singles portion of the contest, ultimately falling 6-3 to FDU-Florham, Saturday.

Fred Hockenbury and Justin Muthler won 8-3 at second doubles and Matt Erney and Kyle Capozzi equaled that score at third doubles as MU went ahead 2-1.

Hockenbury also won 6-4, 6-4 at first singles but the Cougars lost the other five singles points.

Misericordia almost turned the result around at fourth and sixth singles, but Muthler and Capozzi each lost after taking their matches to a third set.

MU is 1-9, 0-2 and travels to Elizabethtown, tomorrow at 1 PM.
