The Misericordia University women's tennis team remained atop the Freedom Conference standings with an 8-1 win over Eastern, Saturday in St. Davids, PA.
Seniors
Ashley Mangabang and
Courtney Otto were both double-winners, combining for an 8-5 victory at second doubles and taking the decisions at third and fourth singles, respectively.
A pair of freshmen-
Michelle Cameron (first singles, first doubles) and
Cassie Foy (third doubles, fifth singles) were also double-winners. Cameron teamed with classmate
Breanne Phillips in doubles competition, while Foy and
Jennifer Spott won a tight 9-8 (7-5) tie-breaker in the third spot.
Ellyn Wingert won 6-3, 6-4 at sixth singles.
The Cougars are 9-6, 3-0 and host Manhattanville next Saturday.
