The Misericordia University men's and women's basketball teams are set to travel to Eastern to return to Freedom Conference play, Wednesday.
The men, 9-4, are coming off an 83-76 victory in the consolation game in the Sponaugle New Year's Tournament. The women, 4-6, are coming off a 73-55 loss to St. Vincent in the consolation game in the Juniata Invitational.
MU men are shooting 47.5% from the field as a team and 42.4 % from three-point land. They are outscoring their opponents 70.6 to 62.8 in 13 games.
The men are led by senior forward
Ethan Eichhorst. Eichhorst is averaging 17.2 ppg and 7.5 rpg. He is shooting 55.6% from the field and is averaging 87.5% from the charity stripe.
Senior guard
Jeff Slanovec is a great compliment to Eichhorst. He is averaging 11.0 ppg and is averaging 2.3 three-pointers made per game. He has an assist to turnover ratio of 1.36.
The women are shooting 44.6% from the floor and have a free-throw percentage of 74.7% while outscoring their opponents 65.0 to 61.5.
They are led by senior forward
Christine Marks. Marks is shooting 52.1% from the floor and an astonishing 96.2% from the free-throw line, good for fourth in the nation. She is averaging 21.0 ppg and 11.1 rpg.
Junior guard
Hannah Seely is shooting lights out from the field for MU. She has a field goal percentage of 57.5%, to put her 16
th in the nation. She is averaging 11.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg.
