The Misericordia University women's opened an early lead and never looked back on the way to an 86-57 win over Delaware Valley, Saturday at the Anderson Center.
Christine Marks had 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Cougars and
Tyann McDaniel added 22 points on nine-of-14 shooting from the floor.
Trailing 6-5, the Cougars broke the game open with a 15-0 run to take a 20-6 lead with 12:19 to play in the first half.
McDaniel put the Cougars ahead with a jumper and
Kayla Sileo drained a three-pointer before McDaniel scored five straight five points.
Caitlin Sweeney buried a three-pointer and Sileo ended the run with a jumper.
The Aggies never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way and the Cougars stretched the lead to 41-13 at halftime.
Leading 23-11, MU closed the half on a 20-2 spurt over the final 9:20, including nine straight points from Marks.
Misericordia improved to 8-7 overall and 5-2 in the Freedom. The Cougars will play a non-conference game at Marywood, Monday.
