Freshman Nick Hershey earned the first two wins of his college career, but the Misericordia University men's tennis team only managed one other win on the day, falling to Lycoming, 6-3, at Bruce Henry Park on Thursday afternoon.

Hershey defeated Lycoming's Cody Heffner at second singles, 6-4, 6-4, to earn his first singles win before teaming with senior Sal Saraniti to earn a hard-fought 8-6 win at first doubles.

Tony Gooddall also won his second consecutive match at fifth singles, defeating Jordan Dubinsky, 6-0, 6-2.

The Cougars will close their fall season on Saturday, when they compete in the MAC Men's Tennis Individual Championships.
