Meghan Antrim scored her first career hat trick and
Sam Helmstetter broke the school's all-time assists record to lead the Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 9-2 win at DeSales, Saturday.
Helmstetter,
Laura Roney,
Megan Lannigan and
Lindsay Usarzewicz had a goal and an assist while
Erin McGreal and
Erin Baker added goals.
Nikki Hensel added two assists as the Cougars improved to 11-2-1 overall and 4-0 in the Freedom.
Roney gave the Cougars an early lead off a feed from Lannigan at 1:53 and Helmstetter made it 2-0 just 10 minutes later.
Antrim scored her first goal of the day at 15:06 on Helmstetter's 31st career assist – a new Misericordia record.
McGreal made it 4-0 at 27:11 and Antrim and Lannigan scored four minutes apart late in the first half to give the Cougars a 6-0 lead.
Antrim finished off her hat trick early in the second half with an assist from Usarzewicz and Usarzewicz netted her goal just three minutes later to make it 8-0 at 58:24.
Erin Baker closed out the scoring for MU with an unassisted goal at 83:17.
