The Misericordia University men's basketball team clinched a Freedom Conference championships berth with its eighth straight win, 86-66, Saturday at Delaware Valley.
Steve Artzerounian led the Cougars with 24 points and 14 rebounds and
Ethan Eichhorst added 21 points.
Matt Greene had 16 points and six assists and
Jeff Slanovec had 10 points and seven assists.
The Cougars broke a 22-22 tie with a 20-5 run over the final 7:56 of the first half.
Greene put the Cougars ahead with a pair of free throws and Eichhorst's jumper made it 26-22.
After a Del Val bucket, Slanovec scored five straight points and Greene buried a three-pointer for a 34-24 lead with 5:16 left in the half.
The Aggies cut it to eight, but Artzerounian and Slanovec had back-to-back layups to put MU up, 38-26 with 3:34 to go.
Artzerounian added two more layups over the final two minutes of the half.
Greene's three-pointer gave the Cougars a 59-36 lead with 13:46 to play and the Aggies never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
MU shot 56.7% from the floor for the game, including 63% (17-27) in the first half on the way to a 42-27 halftime lead.
The Cougars are 17-6 overall and in 9-3 in the Freedom and will host King's in their regular season home finale, Tuesday at 8:00.
