The Misericordia University men's and women's basketball teams will travel to Center Valley to battle Freedom Conference foe DeSales, Saturday.
The MU men (14-6, 6-3) enter the game on a five-game winning streak after a 76-61 victory over Wilkes, Wednesday.
Steve Artzerounian led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds while sophomore
Matt Greene scored 16, shooting 4-8 from behind the arc.
The Cougars are led by
Ethan Eichhorst, who is the third-leading scorer in the Freedom (17.4ppg). He is shooting 53.1%, fourth in the Freedom and is second from the charity stripe, shooting 87.4%.
Eichhorst is aided by Greene, who leads the conference in assists (3.7 apg). He is second in three-pointers made (2.3 per game) while shooting 45.5% from behind the arc, fourth in the Freedom.
The Cougars have the best scoring defense in the conference, giving up 63.2 ppg and outscore their opponents by eight points, second in the Freedom. They lead the conference in free-throw percentage (75.5%), field goal percentage (41.4%), three point field goal percentage (41.3%) and three-point field goals made (7.6 per game).
MU is in a tie for second place with Wilkes, one game behind Eastern.
DeSales (12-8, 5-4) is looking to break a tie with FDU-Florham for the fourth spot in the Freedom standings.
DSU's men are second in both three point shooting (37.1%) and field goal percentage (45.7%).
Brett Mayer is second in field goal percentage (56.7%) and Bob Zanneo leads the conference in free-throw percentage (91.3%)
MU's women enter this match-up 11-8 (7-2) tied for second in the Freedom, two games behind King's.
Senior
Jesse Robinson led all scorers with 20 points while shooting 8-13 from the field. Junior
Kayla Sileo made her first start of the year and scored 18 points and shot 2-3 from three-point land.
The Cougars are led by senior forward
Christine Marks, who is shooting a conference best 89.7% from the free-throw line. She is second in the Freedom in scoring (20.5 ppg) and is the leading rebounder (10.4 rpg).
Marks is complimented by junior guard
Tyann McDaniel, who leads the Freedom in three-point field goal percentage (39.8 %) and is second in threes made (2.2 per game).
The Cougars lead the conference in shooting all-around. They are first in field-goal percentage (44.0 %), free-throw percentage (74.9 %) and three-point percentage (29.3 %). They are also the second-leading scoring team with 56.7 ppg.
The Bulldogs are led by sophomore guard Sondrine Glovas who is averaging 15.2 ppg while shooting 31.1% from long distance.
