The Misericordia University women's tennis team defeated King's in the Freedom Conference semi finals, Tuesday afternoon.

Michelle Cameron, Breanne Phillips and Cassie Foy were all double-winners for the Cougars to earn their fourth straight trip to the Freedom Championship match.

Cameron and Phillips teamed up to win #1 doubles, 8-4.  At #2 doubles, Emily Boro and Foy took their match deep.  After King's forced the match to go into a tie-break, Foy hammered a shot in-between her two opponents to turn the momentum and go on to win the match, 9-7.

Phillips won #2 singles handily (6-2, 6-0) and Foy won #4 singles in straight sets (6-3, 6-1).

At #1 singles, Cameron won the first set, 6-3, but fell behind in the second set, 3-0.  She battled back to 6-6 to force a tie-break.  She slammed a forehand winner and forced multiple errors to win the tie-break 7-3, and clinch the win for the Cougars.

MU, 11-4, will face Wilkes in the Freedom Championship Match, Saturday.
