The Misericordia University volleyball team swept a non-conference match from Marywood, 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 28-26), Monday night at the Anderson Center.
Cailin McCullion led Misericordia with 17 kills while Kat LaBrie had 16 kills and two solo blocks.
Meghan Stack added 11 kills.
Misericordia rallied from a 16-12 deficit to take the opener, 25-20.
After a Marywood attack error,
Shelby Brochetti followed with an ace and Kat LaBrie got Misericordia within one with a kill inside the sideline.
Another Marywood error tied the score and LaBrie put the Cougars ahead, 17-16.
McCullion's kill inside the back line made it 18-16.
Meghan stack had an ace to stretch Misericordia's lead to 21-18 and McCullion added an ace to give the Cougars a 24-20 advantage.
Neither team led by more than three points in the middle set and the Cougars scored the last three points to win, 25-22.
Tied at 20, McCullion's smash down the left sideline put the Cougars ahead and
Samantha Baro followed with a dink to make it 22-20.
After a Marywood ace, McCullion hit through two blockers and Baro's kill closed out the set.
Misericordia led throughout most of the third set, but the Pacers rallied to take a 26-25 lead.
After a timeout,
Kellyn Swanson had back-to-back kills as the Cougars regained the lead and a Marywood attack error closed out the match.
Misericordia will open Freedom Conference play when they host Wilkes, Wednesday.
