Four Cougar men finished in the top 23 and MU earned a 5
th place finish in the 14-team men's race of their own Cougar Classic early Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Dave McLean led the Cougars for the second straight race, finishing 13
th in 27:41- just a second off his career-best time from last week.
Freshman
Mikael Hause finshed second for the Cougars in 28:16, good for 20
th overall, while junior
Josh Krall made a surge at the finish line to finish just behind Hause in 28:17. Sophomore AJ Limongelli (28:21, 23
rd) and junior
Zach Bottone (29:11, 35
th) rounded out the scoring for MU.
Albright's John Wallace placed first overall in the men's 8K race with a time of 26:51, while Elizabethtown dominated the men's competition with four runners in the top 10 and a team score of 36. Lebanon Valley (90) finished second, while King's (92) and Messiah (98) finished third and fourth, respectively, to edge the Cougars.
“We had good teams here today,” said MU head coach
Chris Wadas. “This was a hard work week for us, yet we still came out and competed well. If we continue to build from where we are currently, we will be in a good place at the end of the year.”
MU returns to competition on Friday at the NEPA Classic in Wilkes-Barre.
