Seven different players scored goals and the game was never in question as the Misericordia University women's soccer team cruised to an 11-0 victory over Lycoming Wednesday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Sam Helmstetter, Meghan Antrim, Alyssa Manno and Erin Baker each scored a pair of goals, while Megan Lannigan, Laura Roney, and Lindsay Usarewicz all added goals as well.
 
Helmstetter began the scoring for MU (6-0-1) in the 19^th minute, taking a ball from Roney to give the Cougars a lead they'd never relinquish.
 
The lead quickly grew to 4-0 as the Cougars scored three goals in the span of 80 seconds. Lannigan scored off a Helmstetter assist in the 25^th minute, and Helmstetter turned around and scored her second of the game. The goal was also the 30^th of Helmstetter's career, moving her into a tie for sixth place in school history with Carolyn Muller ('05). Roney then converted a penalty kick opportunity after being fouled in the box.
 
Antrim made the score 5-0 in the 31^st minute on a pass from Lannigan, while Alyssa Manno closed the first half by scoring her first career goal on a ball from Caitlyn Boyle.
 
Baker opened the second half scoring for MU, scoring goals in the 52^nd and 60^th minutes to increase the lead to 8-0. Antrim added her second goal of the game in the 65^th minute, and Usarewicz scored her first career goal in the 81^st minute to put the Cougars in double figures.
 
Manno netted her second goal of the game in the 87^th minute to close the scoring.
 
The Cougars outshot the Warriors 36-4 for the game and had a 9-0 advantage on corner kicks.
 
Maureen Ciccosanti stopped three shots in earning her fourth shutout of the season.
 
The Cougars will get a big test on Saturday when they travel to #3 Messiah.
