Bryce Houdeshel scored early in the second overtime to lift the Misericordia University men's soccer team to a 2-1 win at Elizabethtown, Saturday afternoon.
Josh Pfahl added a goal and
Nick vonEgypt had two assists for the Cougars.
Barry Fitzgerald made eight saves to earn his first collegiate win in goal.
On the game-winner, vonEgypt ripped a shot of the crossbar and Houdeshel buried the rebound for the win just 38 seconds into the second overtime period.
After falling behind 1-0 in the seventh minute, the Cougars rallied to tie midway through the second half.
Rob Wiacek served a ball into the box and vonEgypt headed it Pfahl who out-leaped the defense to head it home at 74:18.
MU got another a solid defensive effort from
Dennis Halpin and
T.J. Schaefer while
Nick Ferguson created several dangerous scoring opportunities.
MU had a 25-15 edge in shots and held a 12-4 advantage in corners while improving to 6-4.
Misericordia will travel to Lebanon Valley, Wednesday.
