The Misericordia University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-10) to DeSales, Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.

Kat LaBrie led the Cougars with seven kills while Cailin McCullion had six and Kellyn Swanson added five.

Nicole Korgeski had 14 assists.

LaBrie gave MU a 1-0 lead in the opener with a smash through two DeSales blockers.

After DeSales went up 2-1, LaBrie answered with a kill to tie it.

With DeSales leading 5-3, McCullion had two kills on the next three points to get within 6-5.

DeSales had back-to-back blocks en route to a 9-5 lead, but LaBrie's kill down the left side made it 9-6.

Swanson hit through a pair of defenders to get MU within 15-11, but DeSales scored six straight points to take a 21-11 lead.

McCullion had consecutive kills and LaBrie added a kill to make it 22-14.

Korgeski followed with an ace and McCullion's cross-court kill cut the margin to 22-16.

LaBrie's smash down the middle made it 22-17, but the Cougars never got closer.

DeSales raced out to a 13-4 lead in the middle set and never looked back.

The Bulldogs built a 12-3 lead in the nightcap and the Cougars never got closer than seven points.

MU, 8-5, will play at Lycoming Friday and Saturday.
