The Misericordia University men's cross country team posted a number of season-best times en route to an 11
th place finish out of 36 teams in the Paul Short Invitational White Race on Friday Afternoon at Lehigh University.
“I thought that we had an ok showing today,” said MU head coach
Chris Wadas. “We had some runners have a really good meet and some who didn't perform as well as they are capable.”
For the fourth consecutive race, sophomore Dave McLean led the men's team, finishing in 29
th place in a personal best time of 27:26.
Freshman
Mikael Hause also recorded a personal best time for MU, finishing 52
nd in 27:55.
“McLean and Hause had great races for us today,” said Wadas. “Both went out and recorded personal bests, and they continue to improve each race.”
AJ Limongelli (58
th, 28:00),
Josh Krall (67
th, 28:10), and
Jeff Huss (123
rd, 29:33) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars.
“AJ and Josh had pretty strong races for us today,” said Wadas. “Huss had a great race for us to round out our top five, which helped to make up for a few of our guys who didn't run quite as well.”
While Wadas was happy with his team's performance, he knows that the best is yet to come.
“I thought we left a little bit out there today,” Wadas concluded. “We need to continue to improve our race awareness to fully reach our best.”
The Cougars will have some time off, returning to action on October 13
th at Gettysburg.
