The Misericordia University volleyball team took the first game on Thursday night, but dropped the next three and the Cougars fell to homestanding Scranton University, 3-1.

MU won the first game 25-21 before losing 25-17, 25-16 and 26-24.

The Cougars were led by Shelby Brochetti and Meghan Stack, who each totaled 13 kills.

MU also received 36 assists from Nicole Tagerty and three aces from Stack.

Tied at 9-9 in game one, Misericordia rattled off four of the next five points to go up 13-10 and then took three of the next four to take a 16-11 lead to help gain some separation.

The loss drops the Cougars to 8-13 overall. MU will be back in action on Saturday agaiinst Rosemont and Penn State Harrisburg.
