Box Score The Misericordia University women's soccer team scored three goals in each half en route to a 6-0 win at King's, Tuesday night.
Megan Lannigan scored two goals for the third straight game and
Megan Mahoney added a pair of goals while
Kylen Smith and
Lindsay Hoover both scored their first career goals.
Meghan Antrim added two assists as the Cougars improved to 11-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the Freedom Conference.
Maureen Ciccosanti and
Kelly Mott combined to give MU its ninth shutout of the season. The MU defense limited King's to two shots and one corner while Cougars took 19 shots and had 13 corners.
Smith gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead when she slid a low shot from the left wing inside the far post at 20:36.
Three minutes later,
Erin McGreal served a ball from the right wing and Lannigan one-touched home for a 2-0 lead.
Mahoney knocked home a pass from Antrim for a 3-0 lead just two minutes before halftime.
Lannigan finished a serve from Antrim to make it 4-0 less than a minute into the second half.
Mahoney placed a shot just under the crossbar from the left flank for a 5-0 lead at 66:26.
Hoover ended the scoring when she finished a pass from
Karen Spehalski with less than two minutes to play.
MU will travel to Eastern, Saturday at noon.
